  • Library and Documentation Centre: A multidisciplinary resource center with over 25,958 books, 20,600 newspaper clippings, 7,350 maps/toposheets, and more than 6,225 bound volumes of old and rare materials. The center offers online access to relevant journals and archives.

  • National Wildlife Database Centre: Developing a National Wildlife Information System (NWIS) on India's Protected Areas, which include 106 National Parks, 573 Wildlife Sanctuaries, 115 Conservation Reserves, and 220 Community Reserves.

  • EIACP Programme Centre Resource Partner: Formerly known as ENVIS, this center is a repository of information on wildlife and protected areas, conducting various events and capacity-building programs.

  • Wildlife Health Services: Providing field assistance in immobilization, restraint, and safe release/rehabilitation of injured and strayed wild animals.

  • Research Laboratory: This is equipped with modern equipment to support teaching, training, and analytical research projects.

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) invites applications for its 9th Course on Wildlife Conservation for Wildlife Enthusiasts, taking place from 17 - 26 March 2025. This course aims to provide foundational knowledge in wildlife conservation for professionals without formal training in the field.

The course includes five days of classroom sessions at WII, followed by a five-day field visit to a Protected Area near Dehradun. A total of 20 participants will be selected, with a training fee of Rs. 35,000 per person, covering food, accommodation, and travel.

Interested candidates should submit a C.V. and a brief write-up on their participation motivation. Applications must be sent to Course Director Dr. R. Suresh Kumar (suresh@wii.gov.in) and Ms. Amarjeet Kaur (amarjeet@wii.gov.in) by 20th February 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be notified by 25th February 2025. Selected participants must sign an indemnity bond and confirm they are medically fit. Certificates will be awarded upon completion.
