Wild woods
The judges are seeking an image that highlights the beauty, significance, or majestic splendor of British woodlands. Photographs must be clearly taken in or of woodland areas. Submissions can include portraits of woodland wildlife, scenic wooded landscapes, detailed plant close-ups, or depictions of the relationships between species and their forest environments.
Documentary series
This category allows for a sequence of up to six images showcasing any British wildlife, habitat, or landscape conservation issue. The judges will be looking for creativity and innovation in storytelling within the series of up to six images.
Wildlife in HD video
This category seeks talented cinematographers creating short films up to 3 minutes in length. The emphasis should be on cinematography and demonstrate a strong understanding of sequence creation. Your film could document an animal's day, a behavioral sequence, the struggle to raise young, or another compelling subject.
Young BWPA
The title of Young British Wildlife Photographer of the Year is awarded to one of the winners from the following three age categories:
11 and under
12-14 years
15-17 years
